Hair Extension Care Instructions
First 48 Hours
- Avoid washing your hair for the first 48 hours after installation.
- Do not pull, tug, or excessively style the extensions immediately after your appointment.
Washing
- Wash hair 1–3 times per week using sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner.
- Always brush hair before washing.
- Wash gently in a downward motion — do not scrub or bunch the hair.
- Avoid applying conditioner directly to the wefts or attachment area.
Brushing
- Brush extensions 2–3 times daily to prevent tangling.
- Use a loop brush or soft bristle extension brush.
- Hold the hair near the roots while brushing to avoid tension on the wefts.
Heat Styling
- Always use a heat protectant before using hot tools.
- Keep heat tools on medium heat whenever possible.
- Avoid excessive heat near the attachment area.
Sleeping
- Never sleep with wet hair.
- Braid hair loosely or place it in a low ponytail before bed to prevent tangling.
- A silk or satin pillowcase is recommended to help reduce friction and dryness.
Swimming & Exercise
- Tie hair back before swimming or working out.
- Chlorine and salt water can dry out extensions, so rinse hair immediately after swimming.
- Excessive sweat and product buildup should be cleansed regularly to maintain extension longevity.
Products to Avoid
- Avoid products containing sulfates, alcohol, or heavy oils near the wefts.
- Do not use purple shampoo excessively, as it may alter extension color.
- Avoid sunscreen sprays directly on extensions, as they can cause discoloration.
Maintenance
- Move-up appointments are recommended every 6–10 weeks depending on hair growth and maintenance.
- Proper home care is essential for maintaining the quality and lifespan of your extensions.
